Our enhanced scale models
of the USS Nautilus SSN 571 Nuclear Submarine represents the
finest in master craftsmanship. A Nautilus Class Nuclear Submarine.
She was the first operational nuclear-powered submarine and the
first to navigate across the North Pole fully submerged. USS
Nautilus was named after the vessel in the novel Twenty Leagues
Under the Sea by Jules Vern.
Shown here in a 1/350th
scale surface configuration with a Navy Loon Missile exiting
a watertight pressure chamber being prepared for pressure chamber
tests. A second Loon awaits inside the pressure chamber. Loons
were never actually launched from the decks of the USS Nautilus.
Includes our standard solid Red Oak case finished in fine natural
Danish oils, clear flame polished cover and brass engraved nameplate.
Additional base of Quilted Maple finished in high gloss lacquer.
